Effective Date: January 29, 2026

- Email address (for support or optional backups)
- First name and last name

Usage Data
When you access the Service with a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data ("Usage Data").
Tracking & Cookies Data
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and we hold certain information. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.
3. Offline-First Architecture (Crucial)
AquaStock is fundamentally an "Offline-First" application. This is a core feature of our design philosophy to ensure privacy and reliability.
- Local Storage: Your critical business data—including inventory lists, sales records, customer details, and invoices—is stored locally in a secure SQLite database residing on your device's internal storage.
- No Automatic Cloud Sync: Unlike other SaaS products, we do not automatically upload your sensitive business metrics to our cloud servers. You retain 100% ownership and physical control over your data.
- User Responsibility: Because data is stored locally, Digital Comrade cannot recover your data if you uninstall the application or clear the application data without manually creating a backup. You are solely responsible for exporting backups to external storage (like Google Drive) using the in-app "Backup & Restore" feature.
4. App Permissions Explained
To provide the specialized features of a Point of Sale (POS) and Inventory Management system, our Application requires specific permissions on your Android device. We are transparent about why we need them:
CAMERA (android.permission.CAMERA)
We use the Camera permission exclusively to scan Barcodes and QR Codes for products. This allows you to quickly add items to your inventory or scan items during the billing process. The visual data from the camera is processed in real-time within the app's memory to decode the barcode string and is not recorded, saved, or transmitted to any server.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
We require storage permissions to: a) Generate PDF Invoices and Reports and save them to your device so you can share them. b) Create backup files of your database. c) Read backup files to restore your data. We only access the specific folders created by our application or selected by you.
READ_CONTACTS (Optional)
If you choose to use the "Import Customer" feature, we access your contacts to let you select a customer for billing. This data is copied to your local business database. We do not upload your phone book to our servers.
BLUETOOTH / BLUETOOTH_ADMIN / BLUETOOTH_CONNECT
These permissions are required to scan for and connect to Bluetooth Thermal Printers for printing physical receipts.
5. Use of Data
Digital Comrade uses the collected data for various purposes:
